I am a computing inspector working with Hampshire’s Inspection & Advisory service (HIAS) and a Computing at Schools DFE appointed master teacher. I was involved at the drafting stages in writing the national curriculum for computing and was a member of a DFE expert advisory panel on the introduction of computing.
It has been two years since computing replaced ICT and many schools have spent time and money on training, new equipment and in many cases new personnel. It is important that schools assess the value of such investment and identify the impact it is making on pupils’ learning.
Having recently returned from a successful subject inspection at Kellett School, the British International School in Hong Kong I am happy to offer this service to independent and state schools in the UK and abroad.
Whether your school is following the English National curriculum or your own computing curriculum I can provide diagnostic inspection and recommendations that will enable your computing department to move forward confidently.
If you wish to discuss the scope of a possible inspection or any additional support / training requirements, please don’t hesitate to contact me at phil.bagge@hants.gov.uk
