Tree

Tree

This program is very much a work in progress and an experiment to see if drawing type “logo” programming is better in Scratch or traditional Logo such as FMS Logo.
Pupils analyse a tree drawing and decompose its elements. Depending on their ability pupils either work on a simple algorithm for the trunk and a branch or work on recording the properties, before coding in Scratch or Logo. I have aimed it at Year 4-5. Pupils need to have used Scratch or Logo before attempting this module or a lot of introductory work needs to be covered. It uses lots of elements used in the Smoking car so this is a good module to make sure they have covered first. I think you probably need at least three sessions for this.
