Scratch Jr Travelling
A simple starting module of work that involves investigating the moving blocks in Scratch Jr before using these moves to create a travelling sequence in the hall or playground. Pupils video their travel sequence before going back into class to turn this into an algorithm, drawing arrows on the block planning sheet. Finally they turn their algorithms into code and compare them with their videos.
Computing Programs of Study Covered
Pupils should be taught to:
-understand what algorithms are; how they are implemented as programs on digital devices; and that programs execute by following precise and unambiguous instructions
-create and debug simple programs
-use logical reasoning to predict the behaviour of simple programs
-use technology purposefully to create, organise, store, manipulate and retrieve digital content
