This planning is an adaptation of my Scratch Maths Quiz designed for the Tickle tablet app. Although I still think Scratch is the best tool for primary programming (7-11 years) many schools have more tablets than PCs. Tickle is a wonderfully clever programming tool based on Scratch which allows the user to create a wide range of programming projects. It is limited by its range of sprites and inability for the user to create their own sprite or background.
I would use this planning after pupils have made some simpler programs which are mainly sequence and simple repetition. In my scheme of work I would use this in Year 4 (8-9 years). The quiz is one of the most useful modules as it introduces selection and variables and I never leave it out of any pupils progression.
