Playground Games Flowchart Algorithm
|
Pupils learn how to use a flow chart by trying to work out what playground game it describes. This is a great introduction to flow charts as pupils need to use them purposefully before they can write their own. Pupils then go on to trying to work out what is wrong with the bugged version of the chart. (I use flow charts sparingly as they are not always the right tool to plan programming see my blog reflections here and my flowchart reflections here.) |

You could also get pupils to create their own playground games flowchart algorithms like Stephen Connors Year 6 class have been doing here. Thanks to Stephen for the idea. |
